Along with most of the country, we’re going to have some very warm temperatures the next few weeks in Buffalo. If you’re wondering what you should be doing to make sure your grass stays healthy during this stretch of heat and all summer long. Keep these four easy steps in mind.
Feed Regularly - Ever wonder how the one or two neighbors on your block seem to maintain a lush green lawn all summer? The regular application of grass food is one of the keys!
Mow High - Not only is longer grass better to walk on, but cutting grass too short causes the grass to spend more energy growing up and less energy growing deeper roots which can pull moisture from deeper in the ground on hot days!
Watering - Even if you’re cutting your lawn longer, you still need to keep it watered. The best time to water a lawn is early in the morning or right around sunset.
Reseeding / Sodding - Got brown or bald spots? Consider re-seeding the areas, it’s never a bad time to add grass seeds to your lawn to help grow a healthier and fuller lawn.
If your lawn consistently has bald or brown spots and nothing you do seems to keep it healthy, it may be time for a full lawn renovation. Contact us today to learn more!
